Jean-Nicolas Corvisart (who famously served as the personal primary physician to Napoleon Bonaparte) discovered Auenbrugger's forgotten work. Corvisart translated it, championed it, added his own massive clinical studies on heart disease, and popularized chest percussion across the globe.
Without Corvisart recognizing Auenbrugger's genius, the physical exam techniques doctors use every single day might have been lost to history!
